4th Bacuag National Skimboarding Open Finalists

So I just got back from Bacuag, Surigao del Norte, and I'm so happy for the success of the 4th Bacuag National Skimboarding Open. The first day was the arrival of the skimboarders, and it was nice to see everybody just hang out with each other, that's what skimboarding is all about. Then the first night was started with an open forum, and don’t ask me, I was asleep, haha.

Skimmerboi Beta Version

Finally, after 2 years, skimmerboi.com got a new skin. I really suck for not posting contents consistently within those years. Well, I got a lot of contents waiting to be posted, most of it are from the adventures at Mati, Davao and Tanauan, Leyte. Hopefully, I can work with those files, post processing, content lay-outing.. and whatsoever if I’m free from work.

Hello Everybody,

6th National Skim Open

Bantay Dagat Area, Tanauan Shorelines, Tanauan, Leyte, Philippines

December 27-30, 2009

Yeah.. It’s been a while, I’ve been busy doing some geeky stuff, and I forgot to post updates. Anyway, it feels good to meet skimmers online, and feels good to discuss all things about skimboarding, and when it comes to that, there’s only one site that you can get fresh updates about what’s happening in our own Filipino skimboarding community, yes, it’s Padagata.com.

Canon EOS 500D

One of my favorite site to hangout is the cameralabs.com, and to my surprise, they posted a preview for the up coming mid-level DSLR from Canon, the Canon EOS 500D. I just can't wait to check its reviews by Mr. Gordon when it comes out, and its giving me thoughts about trading my current camera, 450D, with this. I know there's a lot of DSLRs to be considered like Canon 50D or Nikon D-whatever, but considering the budget this will be an option.

Skim Jam Session with the Champions

As usual, my parents went to Tacloban (again) to work on some papers, so I got the chance to hang out at Tanauan. When I arrived at the beach, there were skimmers already, Tals and Stephen (Longkoy’s brother), then we just start talking and skimming. An hour later, we moved to another spot, and Stephen insisted that I should try his board, man.. it was my first time to use a Victoria skimboard.. haha.. felt good.. hmm.. I was thinking of getting my own board too… I wonder how much it’ll cost.

Mollom

Ei!!.. I've been using Mollom to get rid of spams for more than 2 weeks now, so far so good, I mean really good. Thanks to Mollom, I get more ham(authentic posts) rather than spam, and you can actually check it on the graph provided in their Mollom settings page. Mollom can be use in other CMS also, like Joomla or Wordpress, and not only that, they provide Mollom API so that you can use Mollom on your favorite website creation tool. Isn't that cool?

Frontliners for Christ - Redesign

Hi guys, I'm kinda late to announce that Frontliners for Christ had relaunched with a brand new design. This time I changed the design to a minimal and clean look, with sort of typography also. Although its running on Drupal 5, but the CCK+Views are the key modules which makes this more flexible and really fit to what they want. Unfortunately, Imagefield module and Filefield module are the ones I needed so I can move to Drupal 6.

Obet Yunuario - Dec 2007 National Skimboarding Champion

I got stuck with work these past few months and haven't had a time for myself, but good thing my dad went to Tacloban City for a seminar, so I went with him but straight to Tanauan instead. When i got off from the van, I was really excited(coz i haven't played skimboarding for 2 years), then I heard the loud sound of waves crushing to the shore. As I got close to the shore, I saw huge swells at the "Oilers Point" and nobody was playing 'cause it was high tide and no space to run. So I just went to some shade and wait the for my local friend, Obet, to come out and taking photos of the waves.
